Feast of St Francis in Framingham

October 11, 2017Our Sister Francesca is studying to be a Practical Nurse in nearby Framingham for the purpose of serving our community’s needs. As cloistered contemplatives, this is rather unusual for us, but our practice of enclosure is flexible enough to allow for sisters to receive necessary training outside the monastery. The Sisters of St Joseph at Bethany Hill are very graciously hosting our sister at their home during the week, since the school is a little far from our monastery for a daily commute.
On October 4 th - Sr Francesca’s feast day - a small group of us were deputed to celebrate with her at Bethany Hill. We were beautifully received by the sisters there and shared prayer and a meal with them. We can see that our sister being taken good care of in a lovely place. Nevertheless, we are very happy to receive her back into our midst each weekend!
We hold our Sr Francesca in prayer daily as she undertakes this challenging ten-month program, and look forward to her permanent return to us.
