O Dawn, splendor of eternal light and sun of justice; come! Give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death!
O Lord, you came that all might have life yet on every side there is crushing darkness, the pain of guilt, the stench of death! Are we witnessing the de-Christianization of the West?
Let your gentle dawn seep into the cracks of our parched earth, quickening the dry bones that are stacked there. Let your strong promises resound again: O my people, I will open your graves and have you rise from them. Then, you shall know that I am the Lord when I open your graves and have you rise from them, O my people! (1)
HIS MERCY FILLS THE EARTH, A BRIGHT AND BLESSSED FLOOD FROM JESUS’ OPEN HEART, A WATERFALL OF BLOOD.
SALVATION LIKE A SEA IN WHICH THE SUN HAS BLED COMES POURING FROM THE THORNS THAT PIERCE A KINGLY HEAD.
WE TAKE WITH SILENT HEART THIS SINGING MYSTERY THAT BREAKS UPON THE SHORE OF GOD’S ETERNITY....(2)
THE LORD TAKES PITY IN THE ABUNDANCE OF HIS MERCIES. HE HAS NOT DESPISED THE CHILDREN OF MEN NOR CAST THEM FROM HIS HEART. GOOD IS THE LORD TO ONE WHO WAITS FOR HIM, TO THE SOUL THAT SEEKS HIM. (3)
