Today we celebrated the 60th jubilee of Sr Rita and the 50th jubilee of Sr Robert. Keeping this anniversary of first vows is a public expression of gratitude to God for these sisters' great fidelity to the monastic life in our community.
We were joined for the liturgy by about 65 members of Sr Robbie's large extended family, and the musical contributions of a number of them enriched our common worship. Here are some highlights:
Four young singers delighted us with a heartfelt Irish blessing at the Offertory.
After the recessional, we were surprised by a rousing jazz rendition of "O When the Saints...". Did they know this is the song Sr Robbie uses to call the sheep?
