The liturgical ceremony for the day includes two main dimensions: the Solemn Profession and Monastic Consecration. Sr Rose professes her vows, written on parchment in her own hand and placed on the altar for the duration of the Mass.
Having called on the intercession of the Communion of Saints, Sr Rose sings her desire to the Lord three times in alternation with her community: "Receive me, O Lord, according to your promise and I shall live; do not disappoint me in my hope." - Psalm 119:116
Dom Vincent, Abbot of Spencer extends his hands and prays three lengthy and beautiful prayers to the Father Son and Holy Spirit as Sr Rose makes a full prostration.
"O Holy Spirit, in your goodness you have revealed yourself to mortals as Lord and God. We implore the favor of your boundless goodness: since you breathe only where you will, be pleased to grant this, your servant, a heart ready and willing to serve. Because she was created by your wisdom, may she also be guided by your providence; and by that grace which is ever yours to give, may your anointing teach her concerning all things." - Cistercian Ritual
Some of Sr Rose's siblings were able to be present to witness this moment of final commitment. We were also blessed by the presence and inspiring words of Fr OFMCap, spiritual guide of Sr Rose during her time with the Apostles of Peace.
