Concert and Reflection on Love and Mercy
This Thursday, a group of about 40 young singers from grades 3-8 at Norwood's St Catherine of Siena School
www.scsnorwood.com performed in our abbey church. Their program included contemporary litugical music interspersed with prayers and reflections on the theme of mercy. They sang with their whole heart and the sisters were delighted!
After the concert, we invited them in for a taste of our candy and some sharing from one of our sisters on our monastic life and candy making. Sister Evelyn described how our community life is about learning to share, and making candy is an excellent way to practice this. As we work, she said, we make sure to stir in plenty of love and prayers along with butter, sugar and other ingredients in our big cooking pots.
