She had been an army nurse in World War II, and afterwards pursued a career in insurance. In her forties she entered Mt. St. Mary’s Abbey, Wrentham, and valiantly persevered despite the difficulties she had in adjusting to monastic life. Several years later she was found to have inoperable cancer, made her Solemn Profession and died peacefully after many months of suffering borne patiently and with good humor. Her last words were, “Jesus, I am ready.”
